Throughout time the people with the power and means have always had an upper hand in dictating what others ought to believe and how they ought to operate. Most people then accept everything as status quo which then becomes the new reality. If you ever question mainstream away from the norm, you appear to be left wing, rebellious, or flat-out wrong in your thinking or reasoning.
Is this how society is? People settling for everything that is thrown at them, especially what have been branded and passed down from generation to generation pertaining to the welfare of man, even if it is the subjective view of man’s ideologies and interpretations.
Pertaining to spirituality and religion, why is it that God has poured out his love for all man and blessed everyone with his grace yet man in all his splendor have instituted religion as a form of societal control on man? Open your eyes if you are not aware of it already, does the church system or your religious doctrine have predominance to your disposition, or does God have free reign of your heart through a pure relationship with him empowered by his grace?
God’s love for all man is not predicated on man’s motives, desires, actions, or performances; he loves unconditionally. God loves because this is his reality. Religion on the other hand puts an onus on man to work towards some ideal fitted and constituted to meet man’s approval. If this is the case and God is love as he is void of any other way, why does religion add a fear factor to the equation for man to qualify for God’s approval, when in fact Jesus has already qualified and justified all. Not by works you are saved but by grace through faith, isn’t this what the scripture says.
2 Timothy 1:8-10, “Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.”
1Timothy 4:10, “For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.”
God’s universal and unconditional loves draws people to repentance (a changed mind), which in turn leads to a higher level of thought and judgment.
Since religion has set the path for man to follow to reach an eternal calling, the general consensus is that if one does not follow and believe, the result would be eternal damnation and curses. This belief is very contradictory to God’s unconditional love which is not dependent on man’s works but on Jesus’ finished work on the cross. So one must ask themselves, does religion promote a mind control bias based on the fear of eternal damnation, which dictates that man must fit into a certain mold in order to meet a certain standard of behavioral etiquette that makes one accepted by God? Say this isn’t so but unfortunately this is the standard religion set for man.
Here is an excerpt taken from an older blog message “In Christ alone not Christianity” – You do not need Christianity to have a relationship with God or to follow Christ. The truth of the matter is Jesus did not come to implement the religion called Christianity; he came to establish his kingdom on earth. The people who followed Jesus when he walked the earth followed the “Way of God”. Christianity however was implemented by the Roman Emperor Constantine for political and financial power and this led to the formation of Roman Catholicism. In the 16thcentury however, the reformers who objected the doctrines, rituals, and the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church made a way for the creation of the Protestant church.
As seen above those who have the financial and political control dictates how the masses think. So now with religion being implemented, leaders found a way to control your finances through tithes and offerings. Please refresh yourself with this past blog message. In short, giving is a matter of the heart as it is not based on any legalism of the law dictated by man: http://www.restinthegraceofgod.com/category/grace-giving/
So now if you view the bible as a constitution and not as a group of people’s subjective view of God, then your reality of God can be minimized to fit the premise dictated by man’s superior control through religion. And with so much focus on hell and curses, could it all be a mental state away from God’s reality. Remember your spirit has been perfected through Christ; it’s your mind that must be renewed.
Galatians 3:10 states, “For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse.”
Is it safe to say that people who still rely on the Mosaic law would not be literally cursed but be burdened or corrupted in their mind by a works mentality in trying to live up to an ideal apart from trusting in God’s grace alone. God is love as he has already made the way for everyone through his grace.
God’s love is meant for love and unity of all mankind, not the division and hatred seen amongst religious piousness. Take this simple example: A man and a woman met and fell in love, true love to die for. Well they both come from two different religious backgrounds that do not stand for people being unequally yoked. Because of this the engagement and wedding is called off due to disagreements between families.
What is being unequally yoked? Is it someone not believing or sharing the same views as another person?
Again God’s love unites but religion tears apart. If people truly understood that God’s love has no barriers and they come away from putting their trust in religious control, then the world would surely be a better place. There would be no more religious control altered by man’s ideal, but now people will be free in their spirit to allow God’s grace to direct their lives. If this was the case, the couple so rich in love and truly accepting God’s love for them would get married and live in love.
Each religious faction view God as exclusive to their religion but God loves all people and Jesus died for all, even if one does not believe. Because of people’s exclusive ideal of God, religion has intentionally or unintentionally put God in a box resulting in the mind control of people to fit man’s ideal.
For all to experience spiritual and mental freedom there should be no factions, only the universal love of God for all man. The more one knows how much they are free, then and only then would they walk in that freedom. The more one trust in God’s grace the easier it is for God to direct them. So people should stop trying to be or stop trying to fit the mold set by man, but now allow God’s grace to empower them to be who they truly are, so their purpose can align with God’s reality, which is love.
